Netbiscuits is establishing the software development hub in Singapore to support its international development efforts and to foster innovation in the Asia Pacific region. The company recognizes Singapore as a stable, transparent business environment, with a highly skilled workforce. Singapore's business infrastructure and superb strategic regional location make it the ideal choice for Netbiscuits expansion plans with the 'Island Republic' used as a springboard to access the entire Asia region.
"Singapore is a great base for Netbiscuits as many global players have their regional headquarters in the "Island Republic", said Michael Neidhoefer, CEO, Netbiscuits. "By developing a team of software engineers as well as a local sales and support organization we will be able to meet the fast paced demands of our Asia based customers and provide a high level of product quality and professional services."
Netbiscuits has made a priority to recruit and develop local talent as part of its global strategy. The Singapore team has increased from an initial three to eleven with further talent being hired; the local team is a vital component in Netbiscuits global success and strategically located in one of the world's fastest growing and dynamic markets.
Singapore has one of the highest mobile penetration rates in the world and the Asia Pacific region as a whole is seeing the fastest adaptation rates for mobile devices on a global scale. According to GfK Asia, Singapore is one of the fastest growing countries in Southeast Asia for Smartphone devices, where sales value had more than quadrupled from USD14 million in Q3'2010. More than half of all mobile devices sold in Singapore in Q3'2011 are Smartphones; Android OS, iPhone OS and Symbian OS collectively make up more than 90% of this market.
Neidhoefer added, "We are extremely delighted to receive the Singapore Government's assistance and are impressed with the initiatives made available to develop Singapore as an innovative regional technology hub. Netbiscuits recognizes the high growth market for our mobile solutions platform in the region. With the resources allocated to us over the next few years, Netbiscuits will drive the development of its core mobile publishing platform and train and develop local Singaporean software developers."
The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) facilitates the growth of the ICT industry in Singapore by providing developmental support to technology companies wishing to enter the highly-competitive Asia market, based out of Singapore.
"With Singapore being at the confluence of growth markets in Asia, and with mobile devices being the primary mode of access to the internet in many of these markets, companies based here have the opportunity to grow rapidly if they offer innovative mobile internet services" said Mr. Andrew Khaw, Senior Director, Industry Development Group, IDA. "Software technologies offered by industry players such as Netbiscuits, will help catalyze such innovations."
