On 1st May the device management solutions provider, Netmania IT launched an array of intelligent new features to enhance the company’s popular TR-069 test lab tool, ACSLite Lab Edition.
The range of innovative functionalities have specifically been developed to enable Internet Service Providers and manufacturers of Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) to dramatically reduce the time and costs associated with the testing and certification of new firmware.
One of the new features is that of ‘Automatic Device Discovery’, which provides a simplified way for testers to see any new unknown devices trying to contact the Auto Configuration Server (ACS), subsequently making the process of connecting new equipment to the ACS both fast and simple.
‘Automatic Device Model Creation’ is another of the brand new features. This dynamic function enables the TR-069 parameters to be created automatically without the need for manual entry. A substantial amount of time is saved as a result of automating the interop process in this way.
This latest edition of Netmania IT’s low cost test lab toolkit also features a full Logic Box PHP-based scripting engine with inbuilt export and import capabilities. This means that ISPs and CPE manufacturers can move device models and scripts from platform to platform in standard XML format.
This innovative feature facilitates a smooth transition from the test lab into the production environment by eliminating the need to manually re-type scripts. In this way, Netmania IT’s new ACSLite Lab Edition simplifies the process and saves time when ISPs and CPE manufacturers move to in-life device management. In addition to all of the aforementioned features, ACSLite Lab Edition is a fully featured TR-069 management server.
“This latest edition of our TR-069 test lab tool is already generating a lot of interest from ISPs and CPE vendors around the world following our soft product launch in April,” explains Nick Wilcox, Netmania IT’s CEO.
“We’re finding that the new ACSLite Lab Edition software is also proving to be very popular with developers who have to design, code and maintain zero touch activations and diagnostic tools.
“So what I’d say to CPE manufacturers, ISPs and developers is, the next time your ACS vendor wants to charge professional services fees to interop your new firmware, or to create a device model, why not look at ACSLite Lab Edition instead? You will save money, and be able to carry out as many tests as you want in the future!”
