New cloud services available to 30,000 UK businesses

Star, a provider of on-demand computing and communication services to UK businesses and CSH, a pioneer in SME and vertical software applications, have joined forces to bring cloud computing to some of the UK’s most demanding and security conscious organisations.

With some 30,000 clients using its software, CSH, formerly known as IRIS, is amongst the UK’s largest privately owned software houses. Its three divisions serve customers in the Not for Profit, Professional Services and Enterprise sectors.

The CSH executive team made a strategic decision to stimulate growth and increase profits by cloud-enabling its ample software portfolio, giving clients from coroners’ courts to accountancy firms the ability to access their critical business applications and data via a managed service. CSH decided the most timely and cost effective way to do this was to partner with an established cloud services provider, with existing investment in UK-based infrastructure, to deliver its business applications as a service.

Andy Brown, head of CSH Managed Services, said, “We faced a formidable challenge in creating an application delivery system that would be secure, scalable and enterprise-class, so we chose Star as our long term partner. In addition to their technical capability we wanted a partner with the right cultural fit, a managed services provider who cares as much about servicing our clients as we do. By combining Star’s cloud knowledge with CSH subject matter expertise we have created an unparalleled offering for the UK’s many small and medium sized organisations who feel poorly served by the large global software companies.”

Paul Watson, Interim CEO at Star, commented, “We are proud to announce this partnership with CSH and delighted that together we have a platform to deliver new and exciting services to a broad range of UK businesses, that want the best the technology industry has to offer them. They are the UK economy’s growth engine and they want local specialists to serve them and help them realise their ambition. With CSH we can share in our knowledge and success by helping UK businesses to better manage their IT.”
