Plantronics offers a range of other training programs including regular quarterly webinars and onsite sessions if needed. The pre-recorded bite-sized sessions, however, provide an alternative solution to make training easily digestible. Plantronics uses Goldmail, a program which allows users to combine audio content with PowerPoint slides, to provide insightful commentary alongside its more traditional training. Each Goldmail is tailored to highlight the key functionalities of specific headsets and specifically meet the needs of the channel audience.
“I’ve been using the Plantronics training Goldmails for almost 2 years and find them an invaluable tool. Like most technologies, the headset market is constantly changing and these training sessions help me to keep up to speed with all the latest developments,” said Karen Drew, a senior headset specialist Rocom.
“We’ve run channel training schemes in various forms for the past 10 years, but we’ve really found this method to have been really successful. Without Goldmail training can sometimes take up to 45 minutes to an hour, but with these pre-recorded sessions last 10 minutes or less meaning our resellers and distributors are kept up to date quickly and conveniently. To have trained over 1000 vendors in this way is a huge achievement for us and its value can be seen in our thriving presence in the channel market,” said Marc Lucas, UK & Ireland product trainer at Plantronics.
