This agreement sees the cloud and managed services provider take responsibility for the MCA’s infrastructure, providing 24/7/365 support and management to facilitate the smooth running of its vital emergency response services.
ANS will deliver continual monitoring of the MCA’s critical infrastructure, which is built on FlexPod technology. ANS’ multi-skilled team can deploy and implement any necessary improvements quickly on the MCA’s behalf, without disruption. ANS will also provide root cause analysis on any incidents, as well as continuous service improvement.
The two organisations have enjoyed a successful strategic relationship for the past six years. This included the ‘Future Coastguard Programme’ in 2015, which modernised the way that vessel traffic monitoring and coastal search and rescue are delivered through a converged infrastructure.
Andy Barrow, CTO at ANS, said: “We are proud to extend our relationship with the MCA. Staying agile and utilising technology to deliver a faster and more efficient service is incredibly important for blue light services, where efficiency gains can ultimately save lives.
“Delivering the Future Coastguard Programme was a challenging and large-scale project, but the impact it had and the way it revolutionised how the MCA operates was incredible. We’re looking forward to building on that and continuing to support the vital work the MCA does.”
Jim Tidball, IT deputy director at the MCA, said: “ANS has continued to provide an exceptional level of service to the MCA. It is a professional and dedicated company that goes above and beyond to provide what we need.
“The team have aligned themselves with our strategic roadmap, allowing them to be proactive in providing us with additional services as we need them. The service level management is delivered to a very high standard with a continuous service improvement strategy. ANS knows what it takes to remain on top of its game and I’m continuously impressed by how they operate.”
