Sonus and TTB Launch SIP Interoperability

Sonus Networks and TalkTalk Business has launched successful interoperability certification between the Sonus SBC 1000 and SBC 2000, and TalkTalk Business’ SIP Trunking offering. With the certification, Sonus adds another provider to its certified list, helping enterprises navigate the decision process of picking a SIP provider.

In the last 12 months, TalkTalk Business on-boarded more than 100 new SIP partners, growing its SIP base by over 35 percent.

Sonus’ SBC 1000 and SBC 2000 provide robust security, reduce operating costs, and maximize network efficiency during SIP deployments with industry-leading capabilities, such as:

•Security: Sonus SBCs protect against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) and Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, provide encryption for sessions traveling across the network, and protect against toll fraud from malicious outside users accessing the network.

•Transcoding: Sonus SBCs interwork Unified Communications (UC) signaling and media protocols so UC features work seamlessly across varying clients, networks and PBX domains.

•Quality of Service: Sonus SBCs provide a view into overall network utilization and policy-based priorities for different applications and users. It also determines if and when sessions should occur and what priority and amount of bandwidth they should be assigned, ensuring a high quality of experience for users.

“SIP simplifies the data center, reduces costs and enables new features for Unified Communications,” said Kevin Baynes, general manager, UK and Central Europe, Sonus. “But it is imperative organizations have an SBC that works seamlessly with their SIP Trunking provider to thwart threats, perform interworking and provide network reliability. With this recent certification, they have that.”

“We are delighted to announce we have signed as a Certified SIP Trunking Provider for Sonus,” said Guy Miller (pictured), Director of Next Generation Voice Services, TalkTalk Business. “TalkTalk Business is always looking at different ways to support its partners and customers with new products and technology, offering solutions for businesses.”
