Veeam, a backup solution company, has announced an annual recurring revenue (ARR) increase of 20 percent year-over-year (YoY) for Q2’20. The company says this is the biggest second quarter in its 14-year history.

In addition, Veeam reported its largest ever quarter for total bookings of its fastest growing product, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, with an 89 percent YoY increase and a 75 percent YoY gain in overall subscription bookings.

“As employees are transitioning to the new ‘work from home’ environment, data protection and availability are now more important than ever,” said Bill Largent, CEO at Veeam. “Just as employers must protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees, they must also have solid business continuity plans in place and protect the most important asset of their organisation – their data.”

The company says a major highlight of its second quarter was VeeamON 2020. This was initially planned as a physical event in Las Vegas but become a two-day online data management event due to the current pandemic.

With close to 30,000 registrants from 148 countries, Veeam delivered an interactive digital experience for partners and customers with more than 40 breakout sessions, product demos and advanced configurations of Veeam products, and keynotes from Veeam executives and industry speakers from IBM, Microsoft, NetApp, VMware, Pure Storage and IDC.

Daniel Fried, general manager and senior vice president, EMEA and worldwide channels at Veeam, added, “Data management was a priority for organisations before, and is even more so now. But what has changed is where and how people work, forcing organisations to review business continuity plans and see data management become the priority of any business IT agenda.

“Never has it been more important to collaborate and listen to our customers and partners as businesses navigate these changes. Working with our channel ecosystem is key to our success and our partnerships are critical as we continue to support businesses looking to transform digitally.”

During this period, the company also unveiled Veeam Availability Orchestrator (VAO) v3, as well as providing a preview of what the company is planning for upcoming product releases. Those include Veeam Availability Suite v11 and Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 v5.
