Vodafone increases Q1 total revenues by 2.8 per cent

But Vodafone Business service revenue declines 1.1 per cent.

Vodafone has increased its total revenues by 2.8 per cent from €8.79 billion to €9.04 billion in Q1 FY25.

This was due to higher organic service revenue being partially offset by adverse foreign exchange movements.

Services revenues also rose to €7.47 billion from €7.24 billion over the same period.

UK total revenue also climbed 0.3 per cent to €1.7 billion in Q1 as higher service revenue and an appreciation of the pound sterling against the euro were offset by lower equipment revenue.

UK services revenues, which account for 19 per cent of the group total, increased by 2 per cent in the first quarter to €1.43 billion, down from 6.8 per cent growth in the fourth and 5.5 per cent in the third.

Lower growth in the quarter was driven by the lower inflation-linked price rises and the ongoing dilution of the back book from front book pricing in mobile.

Vodafone Business service revenue declined by 1.1 per cent, with organic growth in service revenue decreasing by 3 per cent as growth in fixed was offset by a decline in mobile, primarily driven by lower inflation-linked price increases.

Its total business contract customer base declined by 29,000 in Q1.

Group adjusted EBITDA totalled €2.68 billion in the first quarter, up from €2.63 billion a year earlier, driven by lower cost inflation and the phasing of operational expenditure. For the full year, Vodafone said it still expects to generate adjusted EBITDA of €11 billion and adjusted free cash flow of at least €2.4 billion.
