Thanks to the partnership, Vodafone UK customers will now be able to enjoy easy access to the breadth and depth of travel information from Lonely Planet through their Telmap solution, directly on their mobile handsets through the service, which integrates Lonely Planet’s travel information into Telmap’s mobile search, mapping and navigation solutions.
While Vodafone UK represents the third major region to roll out the Lonely Planet content update, additional markets are expected to also launch the service in the near future. Lonely Planet information covers tens of thousands of destinations, over 800 cities and regions in more than 150 countries.
Telmap provides whitelabel, hosted and managed search, mapping and navigation solutions to mobile operators; solutions that are designed to serve all users’ needs while on the go, offering a variety of location-related content such as traffic, speed cameras and points of interest information.
“We are very proud of our strong strategic relationship with Vodafone and are delighted to announce the company’s latest regional deployment of our Lonely Planet content service to Vodafone subscribers in the UK. We look forward to continuing to support Vodafone in providing its subscribers with access to a wealth of localised, valuable search, mapping and navigation travel information accessible on the move and delivered through Vodafone’’s network,” said Motti Kushnir, CMO, Telmap. “Lonely Planet is the premier global travel brand, and we are delighted they join us in delivering high quality, targeted content to end users. This latest deployment delivers on Telmap’s commitment to provide a global network of access to the Lonely Planet content guide.”
