It is the second consecutive year that Yealink has taken the award which was claimed in 2010 by its highly acclaimed VP2009 business class videophone. This year’s award was determined by an independent judging panel led by Erik Linask, group editorial director at Internet Telephony’s publisher, TMC.
Announcing the award Rich Tehrani, Chief Executive Officer of TMC, said: “I am happy to grant Yealink with a Product of the Year Award. The editors of Internet Telephony have verified that the Gigabit colour IP phone T38G displays quality and innovation. I would like to congratulate the entire team at Yealink for their commitment to advancing IP communications technologies.”
Commenting on the securing of the award Yealink UK’s Managing Director, Andrew Roberts, said: “The SIP-T38G had already proven a hit with UK resellers, specifiers and end-users which is, of course, the reward any manufacturer seeks. But I’m delighted that an informed and independent panel of judges concur with the market sentiment that the T38G is a special piece of kit and a worthy winner of the Product of the Year award.”
The SIP-T38G was launched into the UK executive market last July to capitalise on the fast growth of gigabit networks which are ideally suited to supporting new collaborative technologies. Its Gigabit capability offers speeds 100 times faster than regular Ethernet and ten times that of Fast Ethernet, with a built-in GigE switch effectively doubling broadband capacity. This enables simultaneous data and voice transmission and support of Quality of Service features. Specifications which have earned acclaim include a Texas Instruments Aries chipset and voice engine, a 4.3” 16.7 million colour TFT-LCD display and high definition standards running across voice, codec, speaker and handset.
