Zen launches 1.2Gbps and 1.8Gbps broadband services

ISP connected first partner client in May.

Zen has announced that it is now offering the latest 1.2Gbps and 1.8Gbps FTTP packages over the Openreach network after connected its first partner end-user in May.

The new products are available to 5.5 million premises, providing Zen's partner base with access to fast speeds, enhanced reliability and connectivity that they have already started to pass on to end-users.

Zen Partner PCQ trialled the product with an end-user, connecting a golf resort to the 1.8Gbps broadband.

Jason Philpot, manager at PCQ, said, "We were delighted to be the first of Zen’s partners to be able to deploy the multi-gig capabilities to one of our customers. Despite some initial challenges with connecting the new speeds, Zen was quick to overcome these, with the team going beyond to find a rapid solution.

"Our customer has been enjoying the 1.8Gbps FTTP broadband speeds offering them faster data transfer, improved productivity, enhanced scalability, and increased redundancy and reliability. It is particularly pleasing to see Zen take a partner-first approach, making gigabit speeds available as a wholesale offer before they launched it into its consumer base."

Upgrading to a 1.8Gbps FTTP connection provides businesses with a wide range of benefits, including competitiveness. It is an investment that can positively impact various aspects of the business operations, and support its growth and success in the long-term.

Andrew Sayle, Zen's connectivity portfolio manager, said, "I am thrilled that Zen was the first broadband wholesaler to offer Openreach's latest speeds. It really solidifies our commitment to providing the best service and value add we can to our partner base.

"We are also looking at introducing the multi-gig broadband technology to our consumer base, the details of which we will share when available."
