Barclay Comms wins regional award from Chamber of Commerce

Barclay Communications has won Business of the Year in a regional round of the British Chamber of Commerce Awards. On 26 November it will be taking the telecommunications industry to the London finals, were it will compete for the UK wide title.

Barclay Communications, O2 Centre of Excellence Partner, supplies a variety of phone, IT, web, marketing technology and fleet tracking solutions to UK businesses. Managing director, Britt Megahey said: “This is a huge honour and opportunity for us to bring the telecommunications and the B2B industry to the forefront of UK business. It is a credit to the hard work of our staff, and no matter what the result is in London, I am extremely proud of everything that our team have achieved this year.”

The awards celebrate the business accomplishments of members of the British Chamber of Commerce, which is the UKs most influential and widespread networking organisation.

By winning the Northern Irish heat, recognition of Barclay Communications’ rapid business success is now expanding beyond the telecommunications industry, and into the general business arena.

In London Barclay Communications will be accessed against the same criteria that earned them the regional crown. The judges will heavily scrutinise their sales trends, profitable growth strategies within marketing, HR, IT and customer account management; their three year business plan, improvements in staff training, and their recent developments into IT services and an exclusive £16 million O2 deal.

The radical O2 deal that was signed earlier this year, which would create fifty new jobs and pass the management of all O2’s Northern Irish SME clients over to Barclay Communications, was praised by the Northern Irish judges along with the other growth strategies they employed at a time of recession. The judges also commended their “commitment to people development”.

Megahey added: “In the company’s twelve years we have always had growth at the top of our business plan. But this year many of our business ambitions have been surpassed by our various awards, product and sector developments, partnerships, and revolution offers like our free landline to mobile call offer. It is a really exciting time for us and we have big plans for the future.”

Winning a Chamber Business of the Year award is no surprise to followers of Barclay Communications’ advances within the telecommunication industry over the last year: An exclusive O2 deal, Comms Business Awards Mobility Reseller of 2009 and now The Chambers Northern Irish Business of the Year accreditation.
