Datapulse launches ‘Progression’, enabling applications for IP phones

Datapulse, in collaboration with Nortel, reveals Progression - a product poised to leverage any organisation’s investment in Nortel IP infrastructure. Progression’s flexibility and its potential for continual evolution make it enviably powerful in the IP solutions forum.

The vendor says Progression is more effective than e-mail or voicemail, as it enables direct and uninterrupted audio alerts and message relay through IP phones. It has familiar pc based functions such as revolving screen savers, easily changed on the IP phone with a web based management system, and RSS feeds for news updates. It enables fast, intuitive company-wide look up and dial directory. By using predictive text features commonly associated with mobile telephones, it is also familiar and easy to use and navigate.

The development of Progression highlights the potential of the powerful range of Nortel IP phones. Using the touch screen interface combined with intuitive user interface design Progression transforms it into a more desirable complement to the pc. Rupert Adair, Director of Product Management at Datapulse says:

“Progression leverages the power of Nortel’s communications platforms in providing applications with practical benefits to IP phone users. Datapulse’s commitment is to work closely with Nortel to create a series of truly integrated solutions with real value to the end user.“

Progression is compatible with Nortel’s 2007, 1150, 1140 and 1120 IP phones. In addition to these pre-packaged applications, Datapulse also develops customised solutions building on existing features, and is working on Progression features for the hospitality sector.
