GSM Gateways, or Fixed Cellular Terminals (FCT’s) have been around the industry for several years now. However, following a recent email poll, SOS Communications has discovered that a large number of resellers still have limited knowledge on Gateway and related products and the benefits that they can have on their business.
The SOS email poll results showed that a staggering 76% of resellers ‘Don’t Know’ the business potential of Gateways as they have never sold them. In contrast the poll found that 21% of respondents sold the Gateways products and found them to be profitable, with only 3% of those surveyed stating no interest in the products.
A possible explanation for the reluctance of dealers in the poll looking at GSM products could be down to the ‘unknown’ factor. This lack of knowledge may also not only be on sales related issues like how the product can; boost business, add to monthly cash flow and broaden the client base, but also on the understanding of technical aspects of the product.
SOS Communications believe that with Gateways, as with many new products, it is vital to not only find the right supplier who can offer quality products with substantial user benefits, but also a supplier who can bridge that knowledge gap with technical and sales training. As such SOS have teamed up with a global manufacturer, that as well as being technically apt, have also considered the installation process. Thus producing Gateways that are both reliable and easy to install.
