Nimans Makes Marathon Effort

Nimans is putting its best foot forward to help Manchester’s Brain And Spinal Injury Centre (BASIC) by raising thousands of pounds in a company-wide charity venture – which was close to the heart of former Chairman Julian Niman.

A group of 20 members of staff is running the Manchester half marathon/10K on May 20th to raise a target of £4,000. BASIC provides a wide range of centre-based support – including virtual reality rehabilitation – for those recovering from brain and spinal injuries, as well as their families. BASIC also supports Epilepsy sufferers, a condition which affected Julian who sadly passed away earlier this year.

“This is an unprecedented team effort involving work colleagues, the wider company and also suppliers such as Gamma,” says Head of Solutions John McKindland who is one of the many runners. “BASIC provides a wealth of vital support and we are all aiming to go through the pain barrier to help such a worthy local cause – inspired by support both internally and the wider comms community. We will be running in memory of Julian too.”
