The Getac Z710 7” Android 4.1 tablet provides a more secure system from which to support a wide range of bespoke applications that government and defence markets can use with confidence. Aimed at sectors that require a fully portable device, it weights just 800g and has a battery that gives over 10 hours of operational time. It includes a 1D/2D barcode reader that enables rapid data capture - up to three times faster than other devices using software-based scanners.
The Android operating system features on the new tablet will include device encryption, system hardening, peripheral control and management which significantly improves ability to enforce and audit security policies while reducing support and maintenance overheads.
Other significant features of the Getac Z710 include high sensitivity advanced GPS technology which is accurate to within 1.5 metres whilst the high frequency RFID reader, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3.5G WWAN. Engineered for extreme conditions, the ultra-sensitive touchscreen can be operated even whilst wearing gloves. The new device is also certified to some of the most exacting United States military standards including MIL-STD-810G and Ingress Protection 65, protecting against shocks, drops, vibration and water/dust ingress (infiltration).
