This long awaited procurement route for PSN connectivity services will give public sector bodies that are looking to implement a PSN peace of mind that they’re selecting an organisation that’s been approved by the UK Government as being able to deliver PSN-compliant connectivity services. It will also make the procurement process faster for those organisations that choose this route, for which speed is a priority.
The award reflects Kcom’s investment and focus in the PSN market, having secured three out of the four PSNs procured to date.
The managed services provider has been appointed as the supplier of connectivity services to one of the country’s first PSNs for Staffordshire County Council as well as winning the contract to implement the Dorset PSN and being named as the preferred bidder for the East Midlands PSN (emPSN). Winning additional PSN contracts will be a key area of focus for Kcom in 2012.
“We’re delighted to have been awarded a PSN Connectivity Framework Agreement,” said Afshin Attari, Director Of Public Sector & Public Services Networks at Kcom. “With our experience in delivering PSNs, and now the approval of the Government Procurement Service, public sector organisations looking to make the investment of migrating to a PSN will know they have chosen a trusted and experienced supplier.
“We’re committed to growing our Public Sector market share through continued investment and success in Public Services Networks which is a key focus area for us,” continued Attari. “Being awarded the framework agreement gives us the flexibility to serve the market from a number of different routes, offering customers choice as well as helping us achieve our growth goals.”
