Focus Group raises over £18,000 in charity golf day

Focus Group brought together over 50 channel golfers to host a charity golf day in Scotland.

The golf day was hosted in late June at the Carrick Golf Course, in Loch Lomond, and raised £18,710 in aid of Focus Foundation.

Dan Ellis, regional sales director, Focus Group North, said, “I am incredibly proud to have hosted our inaugural Focus Group Golf Day in Scotland. Welcoming our customers and suppliers for a challenging round of 18 holes whilst raising vital funds for Focus Foundation made for an unforgettable day.

“With the generous support of our community, we are making a significant impact to local charities. We eagerly look forward to repeating this year's success in 2025.”

The event supported the impactful work of the Foundation. Tony Brown MBE, CEO of Outfit Moray, joined as a guest speaker and highlighted how vital the grant from Focus Foundation was in supporting his outdoor activity centre, which provides essential services for underprivileged children.

Tommy McGrory, founder, Loud & Proud, shared how the Foundation’s funding was instrumental in purchasing essential equipment for his School of Rock, offering opportunities to aspiring musicians who otherwise wouldn't have access to instruments and recording equipment.

Maureen Cummings, founder and director of OKFP Hub and Chatty Cafe, gave a summary of the critical services her hub offers to the local community and how a grant from Focus Foundation has been pivotal in sustaining their operations.

Focus Foundation raises funds for grassroots charities covering three main themes – underprivileged children and young people, mental health initiatives and charitable projects, local to Focus Group’s UK regional offices.
