MLL Telecom has announced it has delivered managed Microsoft Teams telephony services at the Royal Borough of Greenwich (RBG) Council and Portsmouth City Council (PCC).
RBG’s contract was won through a competitive tender via the CCS RM3808 framework and is valued at £304,000 over three years and has involved migrating around 6500 users.
PCC’s contract is worth £367,0000 over five years with approximately 6000 users and was procured via the Solent Framework.
In both cases the requirement was to migrate council employees from existing call management platforms. Prior to making its recommendations, MLL provided consultancy services to thoroughly audit the existing technologies in place. MLL subsequently proposed its cloud-based Session Border Control as a service (SBCaaS) solution for Microsoft Teams.
MLL’s SBC manages the flow of communication sessions, such as voice calls, video calls, and other real-time media sessions.
The benefits to RBG and PCC include a single MS Teams client with simplified administration, consistent end user experience across all devices, and lower total cost of ownership.
David Porter, strategic client director at MLL, explained, “The existing call management platforms were at end of life for both clients and required significant investment to refresh.
“Both our clients were significantly invested with Microsoft and using Teams for internal meetings so from a total cost of ownership and end user experience perspective MS Teams Telephony based on MLL’s SBC platform was the preferred choice.”
The MLL SBCaaS solution is available now on G-Cloud 14.
