Technology giant Hewlett Packard is the first company to partner with Swedish Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MNVE) Fogg Mobile and will launch tablets, notebooks and Chromebooks with mobile data powered by Three’s Advanced 3G network, branding it as HP DataPass.
Fogg Mobile will provide bespoke data bundles and SIM cards and will manage the service for manufacturers.
HP Datapass will provide customers with 250MB of free data each month for 24-months when purchasing new connected devices from November 2013.
In addition to Hewlett Packard, Three provides mobile data connectivity for Dell and Lenovo devices.
Lynda Burton, Director of Three Wholesale, said: “Fogg Mobile has made it easy for HP to tap into the rapidly growing mobile data market, and to fulfil customers’ desire to always be connected.
“Fogg has long been a trusted partner of Three, utilising Three’s market leadership and experience in mobile data.”
“As the need for mobile data increases, there is a need for a new technical and commercial business model that Fogg provides,” said Carl-Magnus Stenberg, founder of Fogg Mobile.
“Confidence from a global company like HP is overwhelming. There is a great potential to reach out to the world, but we’re taking one step at a time and hope that both customers and partners will join us on our journey.”
