Timico Receives Royal Visit

His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent paid a visit to the headquarters of internet and communications service provider Timico last week, to find out more about the inner workings of the internet, hosting and the Cloud.

During his visit to Timico’s Newark base, HRH learned about the importance of high speed data connectivity, innovations in unified communications and the business benefits of managed hosting.

HRH also discussed the emergence of the Cloud with senior level staff and took a tour around Timico’s Tier 3 data centre, where he saw first-hand the work Timico does to manage customer networks and IT systems for household names like St John Ambulance, The Stroke Association, Mitsubishi, Honda and The National Trust.

HRH was accompanied by the Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Sir John Peace, Vice-Lord-Lieutenant Colonel Tim Richmond and The Mayor and Mayoress of Newark.

Sir John Peace, Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, said: “His Royal Highness was very impressed by the work that Timico does to provide IT solutions to such well known organisations. It is refreshing to visit a company which takes such pride in nurturing its customers, expanding its client base and fostering the careers of young apprentices.”

Tim Radford, Chairman and Chief Executive at Timico, added: “We were honoured by the visit of His Royal Highness yesterday and hope we showed him many new things about the inner workings of the internet. Being patron of the British Computer Society, HRH showed a real interest in business communications and the future of Cloud-based convergence and the benefits it can bring for UK businesses.”
